Bringing together
traditional crafts
& farming

Come and visit us to discover & explore our world of traditional crafts. Hands on Traditional Crafts & Pottery is the exciting and fascinating place to explore traditional crafts.

We offer pottery and craft courses, workshops & classes for all ages, from holiday fun for the kids and family to Care Home craft activity visits.  From have a go on potters’ wheel and paint your pot to felt making and dry stone walling. We pride ourselves in having locally hand made gifts in our gifts shop from pottery, made on the premises by our Potter  Caroline Burton,  to thumb sticks and jewellery, turned wood , wool, photography , paintings

Whether you are interested in pottery, wool crafts, crafts using metal, wood or leather - or even want to learn more about crafts from sculpture to dry stone walling - we have something you or the whole family to enjoy together. We offer short and weekend workshops, adult or children’s traditional craft parties, located at the renowned and award-winning Beadlam Grange Farm, or even in the comfort of your own home, club, association or school.

Our difference is our philosophy - all of our workshops and parties, adult or child, explore the real craft, not just in a classroom, but hands-on!

Children’s parties are our specialty - and we love
introducing real crafts to all ages. Many of our
traditional crafts are adapted to suit most ages - and
having a go on the potter’s wheel is a real favourite.
Children also love our jewellery-making and our wool
craft party options - especially meeting and looking at
the fleeces of our gorgeous native breed Ryeland lambs.

We make it easy for parents too - we provide
invitations, toilets and wash room, disabled access, free
parking, and can organise catering. You can even
arrange to have your party food on straw bales in the
adjacent fold yard!

Our pottery and wool craft workshops and parties can
be brought to you. Our mobile hands-on events have
proved extremely popular for more distant children’s
parties, clubs, associations, and schools.
