Our Ryeland flock is shorn every January and some in May and the gorgeous white and coloured fleeces are processed locally to create stunning native breed wool which you can purchase at different weights:

Three ply Aran Weight 100gms per skein is £7.95 brown/ grey/ white

( you will need 6 for a meduim sized cardigan)

Wool fibre can be purchased per 100gm brown/ grey/ white

superb for needle felting and spinning 

Raw fleeces available varying naturally occuring coloured shades and natural white

Ryeside Ryelands is based near Helmsely in North Yorkshire at the foot of the North Yorkshire Moors about 45 mins from York. Ryeside Ryelands breed pedigree Ryelands and Coloured Ryelands on the banks of the River Rye.

Their registered flock was only established 8 years ago, and in that short time have had significant and notable successes with stock at a number of local shows, including Cumberland, Masham Sheep Fair, Halifax, Ryedale, Tockwith, North Yorkshire County, and Ripley. And nationally at the Great Yorkshire show, Royal Highland show and The Royal Norfolk.

The starter flocks were based on solid foundations, with ewes purchased from the renowned Hardgate, Hambleton Mawe, and Hawthorns flocks, and tups from Gracewood and Dewi Fahr. The show sheep have won a number of 1st places and championships, and you can see them at this year's shows in North Yorkshire and beyond.
